We are currently looking for a foster home (ideally a foster with view to adopt) for Joseph, due to sibling rivalry Joseph and his sister need to be fostered or adopted separately. Joseph and his sister Josephine were found in a field together in Romania.

They are currently in temporary emergency foster in Helston, Cornwall TR12, where they are showing signs of sibling rivalry, and fighting with each other occasionally, so we now believe their best chance is to be separated.

Joseph has a shorter coat than his sister, he is approximately 8 months old, medium sized (medium dogs are 11 – 26kg).

Joseph is an active boy, he loves zoomies and chasing, loves his squeaky ball and chasing his sister through long grass fields. He delights in playing tug of war with us or other dogs. Loves other dogs and wants to play, sometimes a bit too roughly. He’s very intelligent and clever, loves enrichment games. He is very nervous and benefits from quiet time, pausing on walks to reassess his environment. Joseph still needs some training for things like sitting to cross the road. Joseph isn’t keen on having his collar being touched, this and his recall need work on, but he does like food and treats so, as with all young dogs, this still needs working on.

Joseph likes to eat his food quickly so needs a slow feeder / puzzle bowls to slow him but he loves enrichment games with food in. He likes to chew and tug so needs lots of toys to keep him entertained to try to prevent unwanted chewing, as all puppies do. Joseph loves a cuddle but only when in the mood. Both Joseph and his sister settle nicely at bedtime, both are crate trained, but would prefer not to be left, this is why we feel foster care with another established dog would be of great benefit, ideally they need a dog to show them the ropes of home life.

Joseph likes to suck/mouth things when he’s nervous sometimes and will try to hide, but he likes to greet those he knows by standing up on us for a belly rub. Joseph has been with dog savvy children in foster, but as he’s a nervous dog so he might be better homed without children.

He has been flea and worm treated.

Joseph hate water! But he tolerates being showered with his human in with him, but hates the bath. Josephs coat is reasonably easy to maintain (his sister is longer coated than him) and he loves to be brushed.

Joseph is a beautiful dog who need someone to give him time to settle, he is young and still requires some patience and time to train but will reward you in kind with unconditional love. Do you have the time, space & energy for one of these lovely young dogs? Joseph would probably be best suited to a home with an established resident dog that can show him the ropes of life in a home.
