Sadly our last dog passed at the beginning of April very suddenly, and as she was a rescue we decided we would have another rescue, so we started looking and came across ADGAS and several other over seas rescues.
We saw a lovely little dog called Trixie, 7 months old and decided to apply for adoption. I looked into ADAGS to check they were legitimate and they came up all ok. The adoption process was very straightforward. The cost of adoption and all vaccinations including passport etc was very reasonable considering their overheads.
When she left Romania we were kept informed the whole journey with photo updates on the group chat which made the whole process smooth for her arrival. When she arrived she was very shut down and hid behind the settee for the first 24hrs, we couldn’t let her stay there so we moved her to a crate and left the door open and just went about things as normal and let her come out in her own time.
It was not easy as we left her the first time she was destructive, but after a couple of weeks she has settled down and now goes to doggy daycare three times a week and loves it. We would certainly rescue another overseas dog.
